A dramatic instant where speed, precision and survival meet.

Instinct’s Edge explores the tension of the natural world, where a single movement can change everything. Created by Nelson Paul in 2020, this original oil painting captures the energy of instinctive action and the delicate balance between vulnerability and power.

The scene invites the viewer to pause within a fleeting moment—to consider the concentration, urgency and determination that shape life in the wild. Its drama lies in that meeting of purposeful movement and uncertain outcome, offering a glimpse into nature’s enduring struggle for survival.

Measuring 121.9 × 91.4 cm, Instinct’s Edge has a substantial presence, allowing viewers to engage with the composition from a distance and explore its details up close. It offers wildlife art enthusiasts a work centred on movement, tension and the untamed character of nature.
